Central Valley Claro Table

The wood in this piece took 18 months to find. While California Black Walnut is far from rare, old cuts of it are hard to find, and old cuts dominated by dark rich reds and orange undertones due to growing in soil where the iron content is high is far from common. The wood in this piece took 18 months to locate, and was found in Central Valley where the soil does the work. The blue river was a sheen of blue called 'Mediterranean Blue' by the client, and took over 40 test mixings of color to get the tione he was looking for.
